Administratio: Jurnal Ilmiah Administrasi Publik dan Pembangunan is pleased to present Volume 17, Issue 1 (2026). This issue brings together seven scholarly articles that examine contemporary challenges and developments in public administration, governance, and public policy in Indonesia. Its editorial significance lies in bringing diverse empirical contexts and analytical perspectives into conversation, highlighting the complex relationships between institutional design, governance practices, public accountability, policy implementation, and societal outcomes. The contributions address defence spending and strategic governance, local autonomy and central–subnational relations, accountability in hybrid zakat governance, public satisfaction with licensing services, digital governance and institutional decoupling, the implementation of election logistics systems, and community-based conservation and sustainable tourism management. Taken together, these studies demonstrate the multidimensional character of public administration and underscore the importance of examining not only formal policy frameworks and institutional arrangements but also their implementation, practical limitations, and implications for public value and sustainable development. By bringing these themes together, the issue encourages comparative reflection across policy sectors and institutional settings while identifying questions for further theoretical development and empirical investigation. It thereby reaffirms Administratio’s commitment to publishing rigorous, relevant, and critical scholarship that advances academic debates and informs administrative practice and public policy. We extend our appreciation to the authors, reviewers, and editorial team for their contributions and invite scholars, policymakers, practitioners, and readers to engage with the articles and build upon their insights in future research and policy discussions.
